Characteristic: The product is white or off yellow powder, no odor, it tastes bitter, is soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in chloroform, soluble in carboxylic acid.
Quality Standard: USP30
Tryptophan contains not less than 98.5 percent and not more than 101.5 percent of C11H12N2O2, as L-tryptophan, calculated on the dried basis.
Usage And Functions:
L-tyrosine, through its effect on neurotransmitters, is used to treat conditions including mood enhancement, appetite suppression, and stimulation.
